  • • Panel discussion Health Science & Careers, where health professionals share their academic and career trajectories. Attendants include epidemiologists, psychologists, researchers, essential health workers, public health professionals, and more!

  • Presentation delivered to the Cal-HOSA student group at one of the ADVANCE partner schools. Presentation focused on ADVANCE study findings and fostered discussion about the health and well-being of adolescents.

  • • Presentation to High School Faculty and Staff at Visual and Performing Arts Academy, “Vaping among High School Students: What to Know” South Gate, CA

    • Día de Muertos DEI event. Staff joined this school-wide event at an L.A. County school to promote academic achievement in the Latinx community and share resources for students on financial aid options and support for the Latinx student body at USC.

    • Testimony, South Pasadena City Council Meeting. Public testimony regarding a proposed ordinance to prohibit the sale of all tobacco products throughout the city of Pasadena. (March 2022)

    • Testimony, Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors Meeting. ·      Public testimony regarding e-cigarettes and youth for new legislation in the greater Los Angeles area. (October 2018)

    • Workshop on E-cigarette Measurement. Participation in workshop as an invited member from the academic scientific community; workshop is hosted by the National Cancer Institute and Food and Drug Administration Center for Tobacco Products; primary aim of the workshop is to bring together experts in the field to create more standardized assessments of e-cigarette use in the rapidly changing market. (July 2018)

    • Expert Panel on Alternative Tobacco Products for Bloomberg Foundation. Oral presentation and participation in workshop as an expert panelist for representatives from the Bloomberg Foundation and six partner foundations to inform public statement on alternative tobacco products. (June 2018)

    • Expert Reviewer for the National Survey on Drug Use and Health E-cigarette Measures. ·      Provided written feedback on proposed survey items to assess e-cigarette use as an expert in the field, and participated in a webinar with the expert panel. (May 2018)
